Road to Reveal: How Lords of the Fallen II was announced to the world
The X Statement
It started with a tease that you might have missed unless you caught Episode 3 of our ongoing behind-the-scenes video series “Lifting the Veil”. At the 9:30 mark, a black background with white letters appears, “The X Statement”. What is the X Statement? A short, concise statement that encapsulates everything about the project, a mantra to keep top of mind as we scope out what the next Lords of the Fallen game will be. Before we decide on a feature or a gameplay idea for the next game, we ask: Does it meet our X Statement? If it does, great; it’s in. If not, then it’s the cutting room floor. This is how we announced Lords of the Fallen II to the world (Along with some killer concept art). Go back and watch the video if you want to learn more and see where the Lords of Fallen II announcement got its start.
Bolder, Braver, Bloodier

James Lowe, Game Director, also spoke about what it means for the next game to have a “Bolder, Braver, Bloodier” mentality, and there’s a lot more to mentality than just being illiterative and sounding cool.
This episode is packed to the brim with new details about Lords of the Fallen II, the early stages of game development, and how different types of media inspire the team.
